Unlike other Latin American countries, Claro is not a market leader in Paraguay. It ranks third in terms of subscriber base as its share is about 11%. Nevertheless, the country concentrates a lot of voice traffic provided by Claro. In addition, its rates for cellular communication are lower than those of Tigo and Personal, which is more advantageous for terminating traffic.
Claro's GSM coverage is slightly worse than that of two market leaders. However, if you place gateways in large cities, the signal will be good. SIM-cards cost about $2 and are sold throughout the country, in many outlets.
Claro offers several packages that include mobile Internet traffic and minutes for calls:
- PLAN 2 GB. The cost of connection is $16. It provides 150 minutes to make off-net calls.
- PLAN 4 GB. The cost of connection is $16. It provides 150 minutes to make off-net calls.
- PLAN 6 GB. The cost of connection is $16. It provides 150 minutes to make off-net calls.
All these packages provide unlimited on-net calls as well.
The most profitable solution for voice termination would be PLAN 2 GB. If you have your voip software and hardware operating for 300 minutes a day, one minute of the call will cost about $0.02. You will be able to use unlimited calls within 2 days and reduce the risks of blocking your SIM-cards before you use the features of the tariff plan. Using PLAN 2 GB, your approximate earnings will be $200 via each channel of the GSM gateway.
