Croatia: Opportunities for Making Money on VoIP Termination

The Croatian telecommunications market is quite well developed. In 2013, the country joined the EU, so the market was liberalized to create a competitive environment. To date, the network infrastructure continues to be invested, which has a beneficial effect on the telecommunications industry.

Croatia has one of the best indicators of mobile penetration in the Balkan region (113%), which is more than 4.7 million connections. The high level of development of the cellular communication market opens wide opportunities for termination of voice traffic in this country. Three major GSM operators dominate the mobile sector. They are T-Hrvatski Telekom, operating under the brand Simpa (owned by Deutsche Telekom), Vip (owned by Telekom Austria), and Tele2 (owned by the Swedish Tele2 Group). On the market, there are also several virtual operators. Fifty-four percent of all mobile subscribers use prepaid services.

T-Hrvatski Telekom (officially aka T-Mobile) is the leader in the cellular communications market, with the best GSM coverage in the country. It owns 50% of all subscribers in Croatia. The operator provides prepaid services under the Simpa brand. SIM-cards of any operator are widely available not only in branded communication stores but also in supermarkets, gas stations, and service stations. In addition, street vendors, who work behind the mobile racks, sell start packages. To purchase a number, registration is not required. The average cost of a new SIM-card in Croatia is $3.

In the direction of Croatia, the average rate is quite low: about $0.028 per minute. However, cellular communication within the country is relatively cheap, with local mobile operators offering unlimited tariff plans for prepaid customers. Your minimum earnings in this country will be $100 per channel of a 4-port GSM gateway or other VoIP equipment.
