Yemen: VoIP Termination via MTN Tariff Plans

Due to the large population, Yemen is a promising route for terminating voice traffic. The average rate for this direction is $0.06-$0.07 per minute. To maximize your profit, check out the offers of local GSM operators and choose the best tariff to make outgoing calls.

MTN Yemen is the leader in the local cellular communications market. It offers two types of services: Pay Monthly (monthly billing) and Pay As You Go (prepayment). Prepaid starter packages are good for termination and available at the company's branded shops and street kiosks. The cost of the SIM-card is $1.4. In addition, MTN offers to buy a Free Silver Prepaid card. It costs $4, and the subscriber immediately gets 300 bonus minutes.

The operator has several tariff plans for prepaid customers:

  • Normal Awfar. The connection is free of charge. The cost of the call during the day is $0.06 per minute, at night - $0.04 per minute.
  • Kalam. The connection is free of charge. The cost of the call is $0.06 for the first 3 minutes; afterwards, it is $0.004 per minute (in the afternoon). At night, one minute costs $0.04 (within the first 3 minutes); afterwards it is $0.004.
  • Shabab. The connection is free of charge. The cost of the call is $0.06 per minute (in the afternoon) and $0.02 per minute (at night).
  • Power. The cost of connection is $0.8. The cost of the call is $0.03 per minute (at any time of the day).

MTN Yemen also has a lineup of MIX Bundles bonuses, which includes two offers:

  • MIX 300. The subscriber gets 300 bonus minutes for $4.
  • MIX 600. The subscriber gets 600 bonus minutes for $8.

The most profitable tariff plan for GSM termination is Kalam. If you purchase a SIMcard for $1.4 and switch to this package for free, you can call for $0.004 per minute (after the third minute of the call). MTN originators offer about $0.67 for terminating minutes. Working for 5 hours a day, you will earn over $340 per channel via the Kalam tariff plan.

It is also advantageous to use the Free Silver Prepaid offer from MTN. Using the SIM-card, one minute will cost you $0.01. When you operate the equipment for 5 hours a day, you will make $320 per channel. Using a goip 4 channels voip gsm gateway or other multichannel gateways, you can earn more money.
